Future Plans
The Julian Assange Archive is not only about preserving history—it is about making it come alive, accessible, and relevant for people today and for generations to come. While the archive storage is already the beating heart of our work, we are preparing ambitious future steps that will open this history to the world.
Public Exhibitions
One of our most important goals is to curate public exhibitions that will bring Julian Assange’s story—and the story of the global solidarity movement around him—into public spaces. These exhibitions will present personal items, letters, protest materials, and artworks, offering audiences a direct and emotional connection to the struggle for truth and transparency.
A Digital Archive
Alongside physical exhibitions, we are working to build a digital archive, where materials will be made available for research, education, and public exploration. This will ensure that Julian’s story, the solidarity he received, and the history of grassroots resistance will be accessible worldwide—no matter where you are. Scholars, students, activists, and the public will be able to study the documents, letters, and items that shaped this historic movement.
Mapping a Global Movement
We are also developing a project to map the global landscape of events that took place during the fight for Julian’s freedom. From vigils to concerts, from visual campaigns to grassroots demonstrations, activists across continents found creative and powerful ways to connect and act together—sometimes even organizing synchronized global events. This map will show how people in every corner of the world stood up, creating a visual language of resistance and solidarity that made this movement so unique and successful.
A Legacy for the Future
Our vision is not only to honor the past but to create tools for the future—to show how grassroots activism can organize, connect, and act effectively on a global scale. By preserving, digitizing, and presenting this story, we aim to provide a blueprint that inspires and empowers new generations to continue the fight for freedom, justice, and human rights.
